Who we are?

Betania was founded in 2012 in La Línea de la Concepción, Cádiz, with the goal of helping those most in need in an area severely affected by unemployment and poverty. Since then, we have focused our efforts on supporting the most vulnerable groups. Today, our work extends across much of Spain, with active projects in communities such as Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Madrid, the Basque Country, and Valencia.

This reach reflects our commitment to personalized solutions and strategic partnerships that uphold human rights and drive lasting change.

Begoña Arana, Betania's CEO

Welcome to Betania, a project that began as a dream in 2012, when I took over the management of a shelter for homeless people that was about to close. With hardly any resources or experience, we started helping vulnerable groups in La Línea de la Concepción.

Today, we have grown nationally, supporting migrants, homeless people, victims of gender-based violence and human trafficking, families living in poverty, and people struggling with addictions. Through a comprehensive care approach, we provide tools that empower each individual to regain their autonomy and well-being.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) represent the fundamental pillars for eradicating poverty, preserving the environment, and ensuring that all people can enjoy peace and prosperity.

At Betania, we are committed to working in alignment with these SDGs by implementing solutions to combat poverty and hunger, and developing projects that promote the health and well-being of those who use our services. We focus on personal and professional growth, as well as quality education, with the aim of reducing inequalities in all their forms.
